The Mission Library collects material relating to the history of the Mission and the surrounding area, particularly as it fits into the larger narrative of American westward expansion. Topics include:- People associated with the Indian Manual Labor School / Shawnee Methodist Mission

- The Indian Mission's history as a Historic Site
Highlight of the collection include:
- Complete run of the journal Kansas History from 1875 to present
- Clippings files about people, locations, and trails associated with the Mission
Using the Library
The library is open by appointment only. Please call (913) 262-0867 to schedule a time to visit.
The Library has a small reading room which can accommodate one or two researchers at a time. It is staffed by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers who are available to assist you.
