Prairie Center
The Prairie Center was first settled on April 9, 1871 by David Vestal. The community became known as the Prairie Center due to being on the prairie and nearly equally distant from four other towns-Edgerton, Gardner, DeSoto and Eudora. The post office was established in February 1872.
