Alex Davis
Alex Davis born in Pomeroy, Meiggs Co., Ohio, Dec. 31, 1837. In ’51 went in Chesire, Gallia co., and resided there until ’64, when he enlisted in co. D., 141st O. inf.; honorably discharged in Nov. and reenlisted in co. G, 195th Ohio inf., and served until the close of the war. Visited Illnois April ’69, and there united in marriage with Miss Minerva Loritte of Bowerbury, on the 6th of June ’70; they have two sons. Immigrated to Spring Hill, Kansas, in March ’71, and has since been engaged in manufacturing wagons and carriages, at which he is doing a thriving business. In ’73 was elected the first Mayor of Spring Hill.
