B. F. Cross
B. F. Cross is the son of Washington Cross, who was born in Virginia in 1809; came to Kansas in ’56 and located near the Shawnee Mission. He died in ’72 leaving a family of seven children all living in this county—B. F., Jas., P. G., G. W., and three daughters, Harriet, wife of J. C. Furguson; Sarah, C., wife of Wm. Eldredge, and Angemima, wife of B. F. McMahon. The subject of this sketch is engaged in farming, near the Methodist Mission. He once crossed the plains, and is still unmarried. P. G. Cross, besides being interested in and conducting the farm with his brother, is extensively engaged in dealing in stock, and is one of the live business men of his section, carrying out all of his undertakings with an energetic and persevering determination.
