Hon. G. M. Bower
Hon. G. M. Bower is a graduate of Bellvue Hospital Medical College N. Y. Was born in Ohio Aug. 1831. In ’54 he emigrated to Kendall co., Ill., and commenced the practice of medicine in ’56. He came to Kansas in ’66; and located in Shawnee in ’67; in Lenexa in ’69, and soon, after purchased, the town site. Was elected a member of the State Senate in the fall of ’70. He was united in marriage to Miss E. B. Brickley of Kendall co. Ill., in ’65. They have three children living. At present the Doctor is engaged in the mercantile business in Lenexa. He is a man of much thought, and ever ready to encourage those laudable enterprises that redound to the building up of the country.
