The Johnson County Museum of History opened in 1967 in the former Greenwood School. The Museum achieves its mission of preserving and sharing the community's history by presenting permanent and changing exhibits, maintaining a research library, offering educational programs and producing publications.

The Johnson County Archives & Records Management Department identifies, collects, preserves and provides access to the local government records, maps, books and photographs of Johnson County and its citizens.
