JoCoHistory has won several awards in recognition of the project and its partners.
Award of Merit, 2007. Awarded to the Johnson County Museum by the American Association for State and Local History, the national organization representing museum and history professionals. The Award of Merit is the highest recognition the organization bestows for state and local history projects.
Savvy Award, 2007. Awarded by 3CMA (City-County Communications and Marketing Association) to the Johnson County Library for the best web site serving a population between 300,000 and 1,900,000. The competition judges noted, "Attractively laid out and well organized, the Johnson County Library presented an excellent site, full of information and appropriate imagery. The site’s strong accessibility and cross platform performance make this site a contender!"
